Duma,
meaning cheetah in Swahili, is one of two male
cheetahs
at Mokolodi Game Reserve in
Botswana.
I
was lucky to spend 4 hours with them on my last
day
in Botswana working as a volunteer for
Cheetah
Conservation Botswana.
This
project has reached so much since it was started
two
years ago. Read more about the project here
and
how you can support it.

One
of two cheetah cubs in Jwaneng Game Reserve,
where
the volunteers also helped feeding the two females
Alice
& Gracie. They had lost their mother and another sibling
and
are now staying here until they can be released
around
the age of 18 months. The estimated number
of
cheetahs in Africa is now 10.000 and the cheetah is
the
most endangered big cat in Africa.
Cheetah
tracks found in Jwaneng Game Reserve on
the
15th of May this year. And we found more
the
following week. Working as a volunteer for
Cheetah
Conservation Botswana also includes radio tracking
from
vehicle and by plane.
As
soon as I have picked out the photos from my trip
to
put on the web site you can see more and learn
more
about this unique cat.
